Stefanie Jae Johnston

Stefanie was born in Des Moines Iowa to her parents Jeffrey Johnston and Jan Schnelz. She is preceded in death by her mother, Jan Schnelz, grandmother Elizabeth Johnston, grandfather John Johnston and grandmother Helen Kurt.

Stefanie will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her father Jeffrey Johnston, stepmother Denise Johnston, brother Benjamin Johnston and fiancé Kristi Fuller (nephew Cooper), grandmother Dolores Kurt, grandfather John Kurt, and her aunts/uncles (cousins): Joni/Terry Cox (Jessica), Judi/Tom Hergert (Jake, Katie, Jamie, Jeff), Maureen/Jeremy Johnston (Jennifer, Megan), Dana/Dave Moraniec (Jessica, Alex), Gretta Bukovich/Joe Wilp (Hannah, Aron Tolin) and Albertine Kimble.

Stefanie was a proud graduate of Apex High School & UNC Wilmington (BA in Communications). She had a huge heart, infectious laugh, and called North Carolina her “Home”. She was very creative and spent time crafting many projects. She especially liked: time at the beach in Wrightsville & Oak Island, going to concerts or football games with ”Dad & Denise”, talking long distance to “Grandma Dee”, enjoying home cooked Johnston family meals with “Ben & Crew”, attending the North Carolina State Fair, and just chilling out at home with her beloved dog Ralphie (“RJ”). Stefanie was employed in Sales Administration for the Industrial Automation Company of Raleigh.

Family will receive friends & guests for a time of visitation on Saturday, September 30 at 2:00pm at Apex Funeral Home. A service honoring and celebrating Stefanie’s life will follow at 3:00pm.
