Sandra Cox Holt

Sandra Cox Holt 88, of Apex, passed away surrounded by her family. Sandra was born in Durham, NC, the daughter of the late Albert Galton Cox and Mary Elizabeth Winston Cox. Sandra was a graduate of Durham High School, Class of 1955. Two years after graduation, on July 14, 1957, she married Richard Byron Holt Jr., her childhood sweetheart and husband for 67 years. Through the years she enjoyed working as a loan officer at Home Savings & Loan and then Premier Mortgage where she met life long friends.

She was the happiest sitting on her front porch visiting with friends and family. She never considered anyone she met a stranger, she enjoyed shopping, decorating, watching sports, and flowers.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband of 67 years, Richard Byron Holt Jr., sister Betty Winston Cox, and brother Albert Galton Cox Jr.

She is survived by her daughter, Gail Carswell; sons, Mike Holt (Mamie), Brad Holt (Pam); grandchildren,

Jennifer Mariani (Patrick), Caleb Carswell, Amy Hughes (Jason), Meghan Holt, Michael Holt, Leigha Kelley (Evan), Bailey Holt; great grandchildren, Taylor Carswell, Cameron Carswell, John Mariani, Gauge Hughes, Kaden Carswell, Samantha Mariani, Ryker Hughes, Maggie Carswell, and Camden Carswell.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 14, 2024 at 2:00pm at Raleigh Memorial Park Mausoleum at 7501 Glenwood Avenue, Raleigh, NC 27612.
