Robert Goodwin

Robert has been a member of Olive Chapel Baptist Church all his life. He was an ordained Deacon and a member of the choir. A loved/adored husband and wonderful father. A much loved friend to so many. He has gone to be with his Savior whom he knew so well. Robert was a simple man with a huge kind heart. He loved music and enjoyed listening and sharing it with others. Words can't express how much he will be missed by all.

He is survived by his wife, Gaylene White Goodwin; son: Christopher Robert Goodwin and wife, Amy of Apex; daughters: Kimberly Marie Halker and husband, Ben of Apex, Jessica Morning Graves and husband, Nick of Cameron; and Lilija “Nell” Goodwin and her fiancée, Erik Jones of Apex; mother: Lilija B Goodwin of Apex; and brother: Calvin Lee Goodwin and wife, Rena of Apex. He is also survived by his 9 cherished grandchildren: Kristen Goodwin, Tyler Halker, Cole Graves, Madison Goodwin, Hannah Graves, Cassidy Halker, Robert Cayden Goodwin, Jewel-Anne Graves, and Ian Robert Jones.

Mr. Goodwin is preceded in death by his father, Robert Lee Goodwin.

The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 4:00 pm Sunday, October 21, 2012 in the fellowship hall of Olive Chapel Baptist Church. A funeral service will begin at 4:00 pm Sunday, October 21, 2012 in the sanctuary of Olive Chapel Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
