Five years since her passing, I still miss my cousin, Mary Frances. 

Was was never close to Mary. She was older. Close to Butch. New tressa Bob Gretchen and Carl as well as Mom and Dad. Knew her husband because was classmate of his brother. Small world. Never close to her brother, but again, small world. Definitely passed too young. Was waiting for some service back in New jersey, but never saw that happen. Wish All in the family well


Mary will always have a place in our hearts. We met her through Bald Head Island, of course. Over the years, we purchased two homes through Mary.  She had such a history with the island. Mary was a gregarious spirit, always ready to share a story, especially if it was about her children or grandchildren.  There was no problem she could not solve.  She was kind and funny and loved her childhood sweetheart, Bob. They were always together. Our condolences go out to Bob, those wonderful children, and her “babies.” Heaven just got a new angel...but she will be missed.

So hard to believe this sad news. I never go to Holden Beach without thinking about Mary, Bob and the kids, and that first time we all went to Bald Head. It was love at first sight for Mary; Bob took a little longer, but he came around. She always had such energy, and never seemed to have a bad day. I know she was doing what she wanted in the place she was happiest. I will miss her.

Mary was great to work with...and very patient...she worked with us for three years before we bought anything. She’s the reason we’re on BHI. Very passionate, positive, always helpful...we couldn’t have asked for a better guide and friend. We will miss her very much. Our prayers are with her family...as are our thanks for sharing her with us. 

Mary was a neighbor  in Woodlake (Midlothian , Virginia) and fellow soccer mom when our boys (Terry and Austin) played on the same travel soccer ⚽️ team (Midlothian Youth Soccer League). She was an enthusiastic and supportive soccer mom and caring person, as she also served as a nurse  here in Richmond. She invited myself and our family at their beach house at Bald Head NC when our children were young.  We had a wonderful time and appreciated the Munroe family’s generous hospitality.  Mary will be missed.

JB and I have known Mary since the summer of 1999, when she helped us find our first rental on BHI.   The following year we bought our first house on the island with her help.  As a realtor she was incredibly hard working and always cheerful and fun. The house we bought with her help was in KR and we became neighbors and then fellow HOA board members. Her older kids babysat our kids and Chris played with our kids. Mary helped raise our kids!  Everyone was in and out of each other’s houses all the time back in the day. Mary became our good friend and a terrific source of information on all things BHI. We just bought our second house on the island last year with her help. She was so patient, as always, with us as we looked and looked and relooked before making up our minds.  For Mary the glass was always three-quarter full and she had boundless energy and a giving spirit. I already miss hearing her voice as she talked on the phone on her deck while I was playing hole number 17.  She was a dear, supportive  friend and a shining light on the island, and we loved her and will miss her terribly. All our love to Bob, Terry, Robbie, Siobhan and Chris.   Mary was first and foremost a great mom and she raised four fabulous children of whom she was incredibly proud.  Every time I saw her she bragged about her kids!  They were the loves of her life.   We are so very sorry for your loss. 

Mary became a friend & go to advisor after she sold us our home on the island. She was a special lady,  never met a stranger & was always willing to lend a hand when needed! Mary was a lovely spirit, has left an eternal impression on the hearts of all who knew her well & will be deeply missed. A strong & lasting legacy! Now gracing the presence of those gone before us. Lucky them!  Our thoughts & prayers go out to her family !

So many memories of my long friendship with Mary, Bob and their four beautiful children....having Bob & Mary over for dinner and talking and laughing for hours, late day swims at Shoals or BHI Club when she could steal away from work for a short time...drinks at MoJo's when she would inevitably arrive much later than scheduled, coming to our aid in every crisis, sitting with her at open houses when I knew we could chat since she had to be planted in one place for a couple of hours...driving myself and my grandson all over the island so he could collect clues for the Pirate treasure hunt ...the list goes on but one of my favorite memories was when we went to the beach before her knee surgery and she got knocked over by a wave.   I had to pull her up before the next big wave hit but we were both laughing so hard, we could barely pull it off.   She was my friend and a wonderful friend to my entire family.   I miss her so much.

As the oldest of 33 cousins, I remember when a new Senger or Coyle or Hubner or Rose or May arrived on the scene. Growing up in the Ridgewood NJ area, I spent lots of time with my nearby Senger Cousins, including Mary Frances. My siblings and I would go to see Uncle Hank and Aunt Terry and all of us kids would run all over the place. I have many fond memories of Mary Frances. I regret losing contact with Mary Frances  in recent years, except by the Internet. I am unable to attend any services in NC but hope to attend a Remembernce of Life in NJ in a few months.
