Justin Mitchell Welch

Justin was born in Raleigh on January 29, 1986. He graduated from Apex High School, where he excelled as a three sport athlete. He was the proud owner of 10 varsity letters (3 in football, 3 in wrestling, and 4 in track) and boasts a list of accomplishments too long to list. He continued his education to obtain his Associate in Arts degree from Wake Technical Community College. Justin most recently worked for WSP USA. He previously worked for GeoTechnologies Inc.

Justin is survived by his parents James and Gayle Welch, fiancé Miranda Blackburn, paternal grandparents Gene and Martha Welch, siblings Bobby (Cathy), Grant (Shannon), Ashly (Justin L), Jared (Courtney), Toni (Kyle), and Adair (Aaron), 5 nieces and 7 nephews, and multiple aunts, uncles, and cousins. Justin is preceded in death by maternal grandparents, James and Carol Niemann.

Justin was always quick with a smile or funny face. He doted on his nieces and nephews. He loved watching Marvel and DC movies and sports. He especially enjoyed beating his family in fantasy football.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 27, 2022 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Apex Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, September 28, 2022 at Pleasant Plains Baptist Church. Burial will follow the funeral at New Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association in memory of Justin.
