John was born on January 2, 1926 to the late Francis Newman and Susan Houser in Snyder county PA.
John enjoyed a career as a carpenter and construction supervisor. Especially after retirement, he was an avid woodworker.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Isabelle Jeanette (Dock), his son John Robert (Cesta), grandson John Christopher Newman, and his sister Sara Kerstetter.
He is survived by his daughter, Constance Heintzelman (Richard Heintzelman), granddaughters, Kirsty Gomez (Syd), Angela McKnight (Tim), and Holly Derenthal, great grandchildren, Rachael and Ryan Gomez, Noah, Micah, Karissa, and MaryAnna McKnight, Anna and Sadie Derenthal.
He will be laid to rest at a later date at St. John’s cemetery in Pennsylvania.
