Gerald Wayne Cross

Gerald Wayne Cross, 72, passed away after a period of declining health on November 26, 2016. Born on November 2, 1944 in Durham County; he was the son of the late Battle Houston and Thelma Ferguson Cross.

"Wayne" married Dorinda on March 26, 1967. He enjoyed spending time with his family, friends and members of his church family. He is lovingly remembered by his daughter: Andrea Batten and husband Randy of New Hill, NC; grandchildren: Jessica Seal and husband Dwayne of Apex, NC, Steven Horton and wife Kaitlyn of New Hill, NC, Kirkland Dula of Hudson, NC, Emily, Jacob and Jonah Cross of Bremen, IN, Dilan Batten and wife Savanna of Clayton, NC and Brittany Ellis and husband Justin of Archers Lodge, NC; three great-grandchildren: Ryan Ellis, Madison Ellis, and Dalton Batten of Clayton, NC; Dorinda & Wayne's dear friend: Molly Sayre of Durham, NC; and by numerous other friends and family members.

He was preceded in death by his brother Ray Cross, his son Dwayne Houston Cross in October 2008, and wife Dorinda in April 2015.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, December 3, 2016, at 1:00 pm at Faith Baptist Church in Apex, with family to receive friends prior to the service from 11:00 to 1:00 pm.
