Tet was born in Morrisville, North Carolina on August 22, 1927 in the middle of a thunderstorm. She was born to George Jackson Green who was a preacher and teacher, and Stella Clements Green, who was a school teacher before she became a preacher’s wife. Tet’s grandfather was William Gaston Clements, one of the founding fathers of Morrisville, having signed the articles of incorporation for Morrisville.
It was during the depression and times were hard. Being the youngest of 11 children, her older sisters took care of most of the household chores while Tet learned from her brothers to hunt and fish to feed the family. She didn’t care to play dolls with the other girls but loved to play football and baseball with the boys. As an adult, she loved to watch basketball and wrestling. And no one told her she couldn’t.
Tet married Paul H. Walton Jr. (Bo) on December 24, 1947. Together, they built their own home near where she grew up. They had two children, Annie and Jack. Tet and Bo started and grew a waste collection business serving Morrisville and most of Western Wake County. They acquired several rental homes, and Tet always treated the tenants like family. Tet was active in Sunday School, PTA, and other school affairs. After the children were grown Tet ran for town office and was the first female elected official in Morrisville, during a time period when women were supposed to be in the kitchen cooking. Her major accomplishment in office was the establishment of city water and sewer, which began Morrisville’s tremendous growth. Upon retirement they bought a place at Emerald Isle where she was on the founding board of directors for Watersedge Corporation. And no one told her she couldn’t.
Along with her two children, Jack and Annie, both of Morrisville, Tet had six grandchildren, Jeremy, Matthew, Holly, Joseph, Edwin, and James. She had eleven great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren. She also leaves behind hundreds of nieces, nephews, and friends.

In the last few years, she has missed our dad, her parents and siblings so much. She would long to go home and often asked different people to carry her home. When the Lord sent Angels to bring her home, she flew away with them. But, oh, what a life!! And no one told her she couldn’t.
