Eddie was a Veteran of the United States Air Force and proud of that fact. He had a passion for his family, friends, his Cats, cars, politics and fishing.
He retired in 2006 from the UNC Chapel Hill School of Dentistry after 33 years. His favorite singer was Elvis Presley and he could do a pretty good impersonation of Elvis. He had a great sense of humor and enjoyed sharing it with everyone.
He is survived by his loving Wife of 43 years: Linda O’Briant Harper, his Daughter: Raina Harper Vedell, her Husband: Steven, his 5 Grandchildren: Justin Forbes, Ben Forbes, Charlie Vedell, Mary Vedell and Richie Vedell. He is also survived by 3 Brothers: Patrick Hobby, Johnny Hobby, and Jerry Hobby. Many Aunts, Uncles, Nephews and Nieces in Kinston, NC and Baltimore, MD.
He is predeceased by his Son, Tracy “Hot Rod” Forbes.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 21, 1-2pm at Raleigh Memorial Park Chapel located at 7501 Glenwood Avenue, Raleigh, NC. The viewing will be followed by a funeral service, which will be immediately followed by a graveside interment.
