Bobby Steele Hastings

Bob was born on December 17, 1931, in Hillsborough, NC to the late Lonnie and Irene Hastings. He earned a BS in civil engineering from NC State University and worked in the insurance industry for his professional career.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Martha Robinson Hastings.

He is survived by his sons, Jeff Hastings (Lesleigh) of Apex, NC; Phil Hastings (Ron) of Palm Springs, CA; and Peter Hastings (Amy) of Charlotte, NC. He had seven grandchildren: Tommy, Ashleigh, Andrew, Lonnie, Johanna, Alec and Matthew. He is also survived by his long time companion Cil Long of Hillsborough, NC.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the NC State Wolfpack Club or Western Wake Crisis Ministry.

Family will receive friends and guests on Monday, January 30, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Apex Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow at 6:00 PM.
