Albert was born on November 19, 1944 to the late Dr. Albert Hargrove Sr. and Anne Elizabeth Spence in Elizabeth City, North Carolina. He served in the United States Army Reserves. He was a graduate from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He went to work for Lieutenant Govenor Jim Hunt for his political campaign. He was employed with the North Carolina Department of Cultural Resources for over thirty years. He was involved in serving in churches in Chapel Hill, Cary, and Raleigh.
He is survived by his wife, Ann Hargrove; a step-son; brother, George Richard Hargrove; a nephew and two nieces.
Visitation and viewing will be held on Sunday, April 15, 2018 from 12:30 - 1 PM and the Funeral service at 1 PM at Forest Hills Baptist Church 201 Dixie Trail, Raleigh, NC 27607 in the chapel.
