Charles was born April 7, 1930 in Fargo, North Dakota, to Sidney and Eleanor (nee Bergquist) Boisjolie.Charles lived most of his life in the Fosston, Lengby, MN area, and grew up on a farm until his 18th birthday, when he entered the US Army. He was stationed in Okinawa, was on a manuver in Alaska, and then he was in the Korean War from August 1950 to December 1951. Charles married Opal Laberta Walker on August 30, 1952 in St. Paul, MN. From this marriage there were three children born: Debra Sauer, Trudy Walby, and Scott Boisjolie.
Charles was employed as an independant salesman his entire life, he sold a variety of products, but mostly he sold custom plastic molded products and the molds that made them. Charles was very much involved in his church, Our Savior's Lutheran Church, in Pequot Lakes, MN. He was also involved in the VFW in Jenkins, MN, where he was the Chaplain for several years. He enjoyed being a sportsman and a fisherman for many years.
Preceded in death by parents, Sidney & Eleanor; sister, Rosemary; and brother, Terry.
Survived by loving wife of 62 years, Opal; children, Deb (Don) Sauer, Trudy (Tom) Walby and Scott (Theresa) Boisjolie; grandchildren, Dallas (Becca), Dain (Amber), Jayson (Stephanie), Travis, Jessica (Randy), Abigail, Aaron and Brendan; great-grandchildren, Bella, Madison, Hunter, Zander, Cayd, Briar, Opal and Alton; brothers, Jim, Tom and Leon; and sister, Barbara. A special thanks to the staff in the ICU and 4 WEST at Mercy Hospital for all the care and compassion they showed not only to our dad, but to our family.
