Funeral service for Mr. Willie Sorrell Carpenter Sr., 81 of Alexandria will be 2:00 pm, Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home with Rev. Jeremy Carpenter, Rev. Skip Snelling and Rev. Don Mattox officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 12:00 till 2 pm at the funeral home. Mr. Carpenter passed away Sunday evening at his residence.
Mr. Carpenter is survived by his son, Sonny Carpenter; brother, Troy Carpenter; special friend, Barbara Studdard and several nieces and nephews
Mr. Carpenter is preceded in death by his wife Helen Mae Amberson Carpenter; Father, Willie Roy Carpenter and mother, Mary Grace Hamlin Carpenter
Mr. Carpenter was of a native of Ashland and lived most of his life in Alexandria. He graduated from Alexandria High School and retired from Union Foundry after 47 years of service. He was a member of Word Alive.
