Funeral service for Shirley Marie Whaley, 69, of Jacksonville, will be 1 pm Thursday, April 7, 2011 at Gray Brown-Service Chapel. Burial will follow at Anniston Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 5 – 8 pm at the funeral home. Mrs. Whaley died Monday at her sons residence.
Survivors include two daughters, Joyce Hinojo and husband Saul of Eastaboga and Jamie Smith of Anniston, two sons, David Caussey and wife Ronda of Eastaboga and Douglas “Curt” Caussey and wife Angela, of Anniston, ten grandchildren, Jennifer Fox, Jessica Smith, Lisa Clark, James Hallman, Justin Caussey, Tyler Caussey, Colton Caussey, Joseph Caussey, Payton and Cindee Kitchens, three great grandchildren, Hannah Fox, Christian Fox and Elizabeth Fox, three sisters, Patricia Smith of Jacksonville, Delores Hughes of Pleasant Valley and Barbara Whaley of Anniston, five brothers, Leonard Whaley of Anniston, Curtis Whaley, David Whaley both of South Carolina, Benny Whaley and wife Pat of Eastaboga and Jimmy Whaley, Anniston.
Mrs. Whaley is preceded in death by her parents, Leonard Oliver and Mamie Lee Webb Whaley, brother, William Edward Whaley and Oliver Whaley, sister, Darlene Ervin.
Pallbearers will be Chris Sitterding, Tyler Caussey, Ricky Ward, Edward Fox, Brian Key and Brian Caussey.
Mrs. Whaley was a native and lifelong resident of Calhoun County. She was a loving mother, grandmother and a loving friend to all. Mrs. Whaley was a Baptist.
