Ricky was born in Anniston on October 25, 1949 to Calvin and Louise Pate.
He was a graduate of Anniston High School, served in the U.S. National Guard
and spent many years as a finance manager in the automobile industry, most recently
retiring from Sunny King Ford in 2017. Ricky took great pride in cheering for the Alabama
Crimson Tide and will be remembered by his loved ones and friends as a cherished individual
who brought many laughs and an abundance of joy to their lives. Ricky was a beloved uncle,
friend, and neighbor and will be missed by all who he touched in his life.
Ricky leaves behind nephews Rodney (Susan) Pate and Daniel (Amanda) Pate and great-nieces Courtney Strickland, Jordan Pate, Madison Pate, Hannah Pate, Hayley Pate, and Brooklyn Pate.
He was preceded in death by his parents Calvin and Louise Pate, brother Freddy Wayne Pate Sr., nephews Cameron Pate and Freddy Wayne Jr. and his beloved dog Bama.
The family will receive friends at Gray Brown Funeral Home in Anniston, Alabama on Sunday,
January 7th, 2024 at 1pm with a service followed at 2pm. Friends and family are welcome to come celebrate and honor his life as well as share their favorite memories of Ricky.
Pallbearers will be Rodney Pate, Daniel Pate, Lane Luker, Dalton Luker, Chance Nunnally, and Trent Clevenger.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Lane Luker for his friendship with Ricky and sharing things about Ricky that we may not have gotten to know otherwise.
