Jimmy Aaron Wilkerson

Anniston - Funeral services for Mr. Jimmy A Wilkerson, age 80, of Villa Rica, GA will be Saturday, June 7, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at Chapel Hill Funeral Home with Tim Wilkerson officiating. Burial to follow at Oak Bowery Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday, June 7, 2014 one hour before the service at the Funeral Home.

Mr. Wilkerson was saved by the grace of God on July 12, 1966 at the age of 32. He was the seventh child born to Oscar and Bertha Wilkerson, who have preceded him in death. Mr. Wilkerson was also preceded in death by his daughters, Tara Wilkerson and Pamela Snyder.

Mr. Wilkerson passed away June 3, 2014 in Georgia.

Mr. Wilkerson is survived by his three children, Cheryl and husband Samuel Jones Jr. of Hurst, TX, Meta and husband Sir Winston “Smitty” Smith of Villa Rica, GA, with whom he lived with for fourteen years, and Tim and his wife Kellie Wilkerson of Berea, Ky.; grandchildren, Samuel, Hannah, Michael, Tara, April, Johnny “Champ”, Gidget, Nikki, and Brook; ten great-grandchildren; and sisters, Vernice Tarwater of Alexandria, AL, Geraldine Shears of Anniston, AL, and Henrietta Dyer of CA.

Pallbearers will be Bobby Tarwater, Hubert Tarwater, Shayne McDonough, Freddie Bates, Robert New, and Jody Brown.

Mr. Wilkerson was a veteran of the US Navy, and served during the Korean War. Mr. Wilkerson was an employee of the Anniston Army Depot, where he later retired. He will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him; including his beloved maltase, Bebe, who was by his side when he died.
