Jean is survived by her daughters Cynthia Champion and Erna Evans both of Anniston, Alabama; and her son Charles Chastain Jr. (Tamara) of Alexandria, Alabama; her grandchildren Paula Lebdaoui (Hamid), Stacey Sawyer (Greg) of Florida Charles "Chase" Chastain III (Riley), and Lindsey Chastain of Alexandria, Al, her great grandchildren Adam, Benjamin, Olivia, Christopher Lebdaoui, Granite and Griffin Sawyer and Charles "Little Charlie" Chastain IV.
Jean was preceded in death by her husband Charles Edward Chastain Sr.; her daughter Agatha "Gay" Austin and her son-in-law Paul E. Champion.
Funeral services for Jean will be Thursday, December 2, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Gray Brown Service Mortuary with David Hodnet officiating. Burial will follow at Forestlawn Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be David Carlson, Neal Lloyd, Chase Chastain, Griffin Sawyer, Benjamin Lebdaoui, Christopher Lebdaoui. Adam Lebdaoui, Eric Brown and Granite Sawyer.
Jean was a native and lifelong resident of Calhoun County. She retired from Southern Tool. She was an avid Atlanta Braves and Alabama Football Fan. She enjoyed the dog races and life in general. Loved being around her grandchildren and great grandchildren. The family expresses their appreciation to Betty Lloyd, her special friend, for the help she provided Erna Evans, her daughter and care giver.
