A visitation of family and friends will be held on Saturday August 21 from 11:00 -1:00 pm a Chapel Hill Funeral Home with service following at 1 pm. Pastor Sylvester Smith will be officiating.
Etta was born On March 16, 1931 to Henry and Dovie Goodwin of Sterrett, Alabama.
She accepted Christ as her savior as a child and later accepted a call to ministry. She married Jack Jenkins in 1951 and began what would be a lifetime of pastoral ministry in the Church of God of Prophecy. Etta was a hard worker and Made every parsonage her family lived in feel like home. Etta, was gifted with hospitality and cooked countless meals for ministers, family and friends. She was An outstanding baker and was “famous” for her red velvet cake. Etta and her family worked in youth camps in the summer where she helped feed hundreds of campers and shared her fun-loving spirit.
Etta and Jack were blessed with two daughters, Telissa (Ken) Crews and Bonita (Phil) Pierce. She adored her grandchildren—Chase Willingham, Heath (Kaylee) Willingham, Cameron (Katy) Crews, Connor (Dominique ) Crews, Andrew(Kimberly) Pierce, and Ashlee (Adam ) Hanvey, along with eleven great grandchildren. Etta is also survived by her brother, Bobbie Goodwin, and many nieces and nephews that she loved dearly.
Etta was preceded in death by her parents Henry and Dovie Goodwin and her husband Jack Jenkins.
