Saks – Funeral services for Mr. Edward Franklin Howard, 90, will be Friday, January 11, 2019 at 1 p.m. at Chapel Hill Funeral Home with Dr. Mack Amis, Dr. Tommy Reeves, and Rev. James Cohorn officiating with burial to follow at Maple Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday, January 10, 2019 from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Howard passed on Monday, January 7, 2019 at NEARMC.
Mr. Howard is survived by his wife of 56 years, Carolyn Fite Howard; sons, John David (Tracy) Howard, and Scott (Charlotte) Howard; granddaughters, Jessica, and Abigail; grandsons, Jonathan (Kandace) and Jay; great-granddaughter, Lexi; great-grandsons, Levi and Kolt; sisters, Mildred, and Lois; brother, Raymond; sister-in-law, Gail (Ray) Cantrell; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Jonathan Howard, Jay Howard, Scott Howard, Darin Aderholt, Gary Aderholt, and Mike Howard.
Mr. Howard was proceeded in death by mother, Evie Howard; father, Robert Howard; sisters, Annalou and Sue; and brothers, Laymond, Cecil, Alvin, and Ralph.
Mr. Howard was originally from Wellington community where he served for many years as a member, deacon and treasurer of Mount View Baptist Church. He later attended Parker Memorial Baptist Church. He was the oldest of ten children of Robert and Evie Howard. Mr. Howard was a veteran of the Korean Conflict and was retired from Lee Brass with 44 years of service and was a member of their bowling league for many years. He was also a cattleman and well known Ferrier. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Pat Butterworth for her helpful, cheerful and kind assistance over the past year.
