Clarence is survived by his loving wife, Mattie Lois Smith; his daughter Angela Smith Hall (Lawrence); and his son Donald Howell (Sarah), grandchildren Paul Howell and Andrew Howell.
Clarence was preceded in death by his parents John Smith and Minnie Lee Johnson; and two sisters and six brothers.
Graveside service with music for Clarence will be Wednesday, November 22, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Historic Plum Springs Cemetery at 127 Plum Springs Road Old Eastaboga, Alabama 36260 United States.
Pallbearers will be Donald Howell, Andrew Howell, Lawrence Hall and members of the church.
Clarence was a proud lifelong resident of Eastaboga and loved driving his vintage trucks throughout the hillsides of his hometown. He loved his job and many friends at Anniston Army Depot where
he served for close to 40 years. He was a lifelong believer of Jesus Christ and loved gospel singings. He was an avid gardener and animal lover. Clarence was devoted son to his parents, and husband to Mattie for over 60 years, loved his daughter and son and will be greatly missed by all that knew him.
