Anniston – Rev. Charles David Vinson, 89, of Anniston went to be with the Lord on Monday, May 22, 2017. Funeral services will be held Friday, May 26, 2017 at noon at Chapel Hill Funeral Home with Rev. David Earl Vinson, Bro. Randy Bentley, and Rev. Ronnie Chapman officiating with burial to follow at Anniston Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to service time at the funeral home.
Rev. Vinson is survived by his children, David Earl (Joan) Vinson, Ricky (Pam) Vinson, and Keetha (Greg) Gann; grandchildren, Chasity (Jeff) Holsomback, Chad Vinson, David Earl Vinson Jr., Jenni (Clint) Curvin, and Jacob (Carrie) Gann; great-grandchildren, Ashley (Tyler) Strawn, Austin Holsomback, Micah Holsomback, Dylan Vinson, Hunter Vinson, Chase Vinson, Luke Curvin, Brenlee Curvin, Bryson Gann, and Maris Gann; sister, Kathryn McKenzie; brothers, Boyd (Ann) Vinson, and Jerre (Annie) Vinson; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Jacob Gann, Clint Curvin, Chad Vinson, Jeff Holsomback, Craig Bentley, and Stanley Owen. Honorary pallbearer will be David Earl Vinson Jr.
Rev. Vinson. was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Mavis Vinson; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Reaves; brothers, Rufus Vinson, Alfred Vinson, Paul Vinson, and Edison Vinson.
Rev. Vinson was a lifelong resident of Calhoun County. He retired from M& H Valve Co. with over 30 years of service. He was the former pastor of Holly Spring Baptist Church, Pilgrim’s Rest Baptist Church #2, Blue Springs Baptist Church, and Fairview Heights Baptist Church and served as Interim Pastor at several churches in Calhoun County. He was a veteran of the U.S Air Force and a member of Fairview Heights Northside Baptist Church. Rev. Vinson loved the Lord with all his heart and served Him with a joyful and thankful heart. The family would like to thank caregivers Tina, Barbara, Cathy, Wendy, Vickie, and Brooke for their love and dedication toward our father.
