Funeral services for Mr. Charles Richard Maddox, 74, of Oxford, will be Monday, September 4th, 2023, 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Gray Brown Service Mortuary with Pastor B.K. Miller officiating. Burial will follow at Bethlehem Baptist Cemetery in Oxford, AL. The family would like to welcome friends one hour prior to service time. Mr. Maddox passed away on September 1st, 2023.
He is survived by his son, Charles Christopher Maddox, “Chris”; mother of Chris, Jeanette Maddox; grandson, Charles Andrew Maddox, “Andy”; nieces and nephews, Shani Knop, Carol Gunter, Austin Maddox, and Patrick Maddox.
Mr. Maddox is preceded in death by his parents, Wallace Bryant and Emma Doris Maddox; brothers, Joseph Bryant Maddox, Kenneth Alan Maddox, and Gary Ray Maddox.
Honoring as pallbearers will be Fred Maddox, Austin Maddox, Patrick Maddox, George Gunter, Eddie Nestor, Darin Hurst, and Zachary Grizzard.
Charles was an avid hunter and fisherman in his spare time. He was also a huge Alabama Football fan and Atlanta Braves fan. Charles was a great and supportive father who loved his family with all his heart. He will be missed by all those who knew him. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Jennifer Crosby and her entire staff on the 9th floor of RMC, Carol (Maddox) Gunter, Chris's mother Jeanette, Faye Ridley, Emily Reaves, Alfred Maddox, and Sheila Maddox.
