Carol Cox Gardner

Alexandria – Funeral services for Mrs. Carol Cox Gardner, 80, will be Thursday, January 4, 2018 at 2 p.m. at Chapel Hill Funeral Home with Dr. Derek Staples and Rev. Todd Borders officiating with a private burial to follow at Anniston Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Wednesday night from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Gardner passed from earth on Sunday, December 31, 2017 after an extended illness.

Mrs. Gardner is survived by her husband, Charles Gardner; daughter, Melinda Gravitt; son, Steve (Donna) Gardner; sister, Gail (Ross) Hasson of Nelleysford,VA; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Gardner was preceded in death by her parents, Dewey and Naomi Cox; son-in-law, Crandall Gravitt; and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Pallbearers will be men from her church life group.

Mrs. Gardner was an active member of 1st Baptist-Eagle Point Church in Jacksonville. She had a heart for babies and children and spent her life as a helper and encourager. She volunteered for Sav-A-Life ministries in Jacksonville. She will be missed by many.

In lieu of flowers family request donation may be made to HOPE (Sav-A-Life) ministries or to 1st Baptist Church of Jacksonville in her memory.
