Ben Blackmon

Ben is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 36 years, Shirley Blackmon; his daughter Brandi Smith (Neal); and his son Jerrod Bean (Brooke); his sister Jerrie Ellen Blue (Roger); his grandchildren Ragan Garrett (DeShawn), Chris Bean (Charity), Laila Jackson, and Brantlee Deweese, his great grandchildren Zander Bean and Sawyer Garrett, his nieces Amber Robinson and Magan Blackmon and his nephew Adam Abercrombie. Also numerous cousins, aunts and uncles.

Ben was preceded in death by his father Travis Blackmon and his mother and stepdad Jerrie and Harold Denham; his sister Margaret Blackmon.

A graveside for Ben will be held Tuesday, July 16, 2024 at 11:00 AM at United Fellowship Baptist Church Cemetery, US Highway 431, Alexandria, Alabama.

Serving as pallbearers are Jerrod Bean, Chris Bean, Neal Smith, DeShawn Garrett, Steven Howard and Alex Howard.

Ben was a simple man and loved working with wood and building bird houses and cabinets in his wood shop. He enjoyed watching science and history channels on TV. He never cared much for sports. The family request casual attire at the graveside.
