Annie Lou Stephens Tidmore, 89, died peacefully Tuesday, March 4, 2014, in Athens. Mrs. Tidmore was born June 13, 1924 to Tom and Ethel Endsley Stephens. She spent her early life in Cleveland, Alabama on the family farm. In 1946 she married Simon (Sam) Tidmore, sharing 50 years of love before his death in 1996. She was employed by Anniston Sportswear for 23 years. For many years after retirement she operated Tidmore Child Care in Weaver where she cared for, and loved, over 200 children.
Mrs. Tidmore was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Simon; sister, Irene Dover, and brothers, Chester, Osler and Ellie Stephens. She is survived by three daughters, Sara Love and husband, Michael, of Athens, Ala., Sandra Huston and husband, Jacky, of Springville, Ala., and Janice Tyree and husband, Dan, of Radcliff, Ky.; grandchildren, Meri Badran, Cari Love, Simon Love, Chasity Lee, Malcolm Tyree and Grady Tyree; great-grandchildren, Simon Fisher Love, Andrew Malcolm Tyree, Caitlyn Rose Tyree, Breanna Kaylee Tyree, Nedal Omar Badran and grandson-to-be, Noah Huston Badran ; sister, Alma Williamson; brother-in-law, Richard Dover and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
Funeral service will be Friday, March 7 at 11 a.m., at Gray Brown-Service Mortuary in Anniston. Burial will follow in Forestlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6- 8 tonight at the funeral home.
