With heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of Patrick Murdock McAllister, a lifelong resident and 16 year employee of the city of Annapolis. Patrick was 39 years old. He is survived by his beloved family: his 7 year old son, step children ages 12 and 10 and their mother, Christa Adle. He is also survived by his loving parents, Donnie McAllister, of Annapolis and Nancy E. Murdock, of Ashland, Virginia; his 3 adoring older sisters, all of whom currently reside in Annapolis: Molly H. Grigg, Gabrielle Hoeckel Verrier and Summer Forest Hoeckel, their father Murray Hoeckel and Patrick’s beloved niece, Ava Kai Verrier-Nass and his brother-in-law, Robert Grigg. Also surviving are his loving Aunts BJ McAllister and Patty McAllister Tita and Uncle Michael Tita, all of Annapolis; Aunt and Uncle Diane Murdock Bennett and Frank Bennett, and Betsy Murdock of Virginia Beach, and Jeanne Murdock, all of Richmond. His loss is also grieved by numerous cousins and extended family members throughout the United States.
Patrick was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Zilla and Woodson Murdock and uncle Carl W. Murdock, Jr. all of Richmond; and his paternal uncle Mac McAllister and grandparents Isabella and Robert McAllister of Annapolis.
Above all, Patrick loved his family. He was happiest as a doting and involved dad and uncle. His other passions included music, especially playing guitar. He was fascinated by space and space exploration, enjoyed science-fiction and was a deep lover of Star Wars and Tolkien. He was a true green thumb and loved all plants and animals. Patrick was a self- taught computer whiz from a young age. In 2005, he joined the MIT Department at the City of Annapolis as an intern and earned his way to his lifelong career as a trusted and much loved member of that team. He was also the IT guy for his entire family. His sensitive heart and great sense of humor will be missed by all who knew him.
A GO FUND ME College Fund has been established for his young son, Brendon and son’s siblings. Memorial services are planned for Ashland, Virginia on April 10th, 2021, and at Quiet Waters Park in Annapolis, Maryland on April 17th, 2021.
