On Sunday, September 25, 2016 Henry Ku'ualoha Giugni Halbach, known to many as Hanale, passed away peacefully in his sleep at the age of 24, at home in Los Angeles, California. Hanale was born in Annapolis, Maryland, to parents Gina Giugni and Daniel Halbach on December 9, 1991. He grew up in Annapolis, and attended Chesapeake Montessori School from the age of three through grade 5, and St. Mary’s from grade 6 through 12. He graduated from St. Mary’s High School in 2010, and went on to Salisbury University. Hanale was a talented musician, artist, and athlete, with the ability to make anyone laugh. He was an avid Redskins and Orioles fan. He is survived by his mother Gina and father Dan, his sister Amanda Hughes and her husband Grant, his brother Samuel Halbach, his niece Roselani, and his beloved dog Patches. He also leaves behind his paternal grandmother, Mary Louise Halbach of Dallas Texas, as well as several aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Joseph Halbach, and maternal grandparents Roselani and Henry Ku'ualoha Giugni. A visitation will be held on Friday, October 21, 2016 from 4:00-6:00 pm at the John M Taylor Funeral Home, 147 Duke of Gloucester St., Annapolis. A funeral mass will be held 9:00 am, Saturday, October 22, 2016 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Annapolis. Eulogy and remembrance remarks will be given at a reception following the mass.
