Douglas Kenneth Newell was born November 13, 1931 and passed away peacefully on November 3, 2019 just shy of his 88th birthday.
He is preceded in death by parents Harriot and Ernest Newell and a brother Donald Newell.
Dougie was a resident of Annapolis his entire life. He loved to hunt with his beloved beagles in his early days with his brother Donald. He also was an avid gardener and made it his mission to get the first homegrown Maryland tomato before his fellow gardeners. His life long work of building homes with his brother (Newell Brothers Builders) earned him recognition throughout Annapolis and the surrounding area for his superior mason abilities and stone work.
Dougie was a veteran and served in the US Navy.
He is survived by his nieces Donese Newell and Daria Newell, great nephews Andrew and Christopher and great great nieces and nephew.
