Robert "Bob" Schweizer, born on April 7, 1929, passed away on May 27, 2024, at the age of 95. Bob was a proud Army veteran who served in Korea, earning the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Medal, and the National Defense Medal for his dedicated service.
Bob was well-known for his love of antiquing and hosting memorable dinner parties. He owned a German restaurant, where he delighted in cooking for his family and friends, sharing his passion for food and hospitality. Bob attended Kemper Military School and graduated from Chicago University with a degree in restaurant management.
Bob is preceded in death by his two sisters, Betty MacDonald and Shirley Schweizer, and his grand-nephew John Paul Cote. He is survived by his two nieces, Mary Lee Ellen Sochacki and Joan Ann Weber (Tom), of Pinckney, Michigan, and his grand-nephew Christopher Cote (Laura). Bob is also survived by his great-grandnieces and nephews: Elise, Christopher Jr., and Cierra (William), and their son Henry.
Bob's legacy of service, culinary talent, and warm gatherings will be fondly remembered by all who knew him. A burial with honors will take place at a later date at the Great Lakes National Cemetery, located at 4200 Belford Road, Holly, Michigan
