Maureen Prindle, 65, passed away Wednesday, March 13, 2019, at her home in Ankeny. Visitation will be from 5-7:00 p.m., with a rosary service to follow at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, March 21, 2019, at Ankeny Funeral Home (1510 W. First Street Ankeny, Iowa 50023). Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m., Friday, March 22, 2019, at Our Lady’s Immaculate Heart Catholic Church (510 E. First Street Ankeny, Iowa 50021). Memorial contributions may be directed to the American Lung Association.
Maureen Beth was born on March 13, 1954, in Bismarck, North Dakota, to Clarence and Norma (Peterson) Brazzell. She graduated from Bismarck High School in 1972 and attended Bismarck State College. Maureen was united in marriage to Michael Prindle on August 30, 1980. They moved to Ankeny in the 90’s. Maureen held various different jobs in Bismarck but her most cherished role was being a stay at home mom and grandma.
Maureen attended Our Lady’s Immaculate Heart church in Ankeny; where she had also taught CCD classes. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting and needlepoint, collecting hallmark Christmas ornaments, and tending her garden. Most of all, Maureen loved spending time with her family, especially her three grandchildren, Donovan, Autumnlee and baby Eddie.
Left to cherish her memory are Maureen’s husband, Michael of Ankeny; children: Jason (Brandi) Prindle of Johnston, IA and Jennifer (Josh) Clayworth of Grimes, IA; siblings: Suzanne Brazzell of Fargo, ND, Nancy Moilanen of Bismarck, ND and Laurie Hagerott of Bismarck, ND; and her grandchildren: Donovan and Autumnlee Prindle and Eddie Clayworth. She was preceded in death by her parents and nephew, Craig Moilanen.
