Joe Salinas, 84, of Anaheim, CA, passed away peacefully in his sleep while at home on Monday, June 17, 2013. His wife, Lucy, preceded him in death in November 1997. He is survived by five children, Joe Jr., Elizabeth, Anthony, Victor, Cecelia and their spouses. He had 17 grandchildren; a brother, Ernesto, sisters Rachel, Ernestina, and Mary Helen, plus many nieces and nephews and great friends.
He was born in Roswell, New Mexico, on April 1, 1929 to Victor and Epifania Salinas. Joe joined the Marines at seventeen years old and proudly served his country for several years. He travelled around the world aboard the USS Princeton and was trained as a machinist which lead to a career in aerospace. While serving his country, he met his beautiful wife, Lucy, and settled in Anaheim, California for 56 years.
Joe was a wonderful family man, with a great sense of humor. He was well respected and loved by all who knew him. He will be greatly missed! We will be celebrating Joe's life on Monday, June 24, 2013, with a viewing at Del Angel/Pierce Bros. Mortuary. The funeral mass will be held at St. Pius V Catholic Church in Buena Park on Tuesday, June 25, followed by the burial at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery.
