Thomas was born on May 11, 1926 in Amarillo, Texas to Toby and Vera Keeney Holman. T.W. graduated from Amarillo High School, he was a member of the Texas State Guard while in High school and joined the Marines in 1944. He served in World War II in the Pacific Campaign with the 2nd Marine Division on Saipan, and as part of the First Occupation Force in Japan following the events near Nagasaki.
T.W. married Peggy Jones in 1947. He was in the produce business for most of his working life and retired from Ben E. Keith Company. He loved traveling, camping, fishing, and wood working from his shop. He thoroughly loved and enjoyed his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 sisters Laverne, Doris, and Jonnie, and 2 brothers Maurice and Charlie.
T.W. is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Peggy; 3 children, Randy Holman and wife Pam; Debbie Taylor and husband Larry; and Kendall Holman and wife Pam; a brother, Roger Holman and wife Mary; a sister in law Ruth Holman; 8 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
T.W. was a man of faith, a deacon in the Baptist Church, sang in choirs of the churches he attended, and loved various types of music, but especially gospel music. His life was a testimony of his personal faith in God and his love and desire that every person comes to know his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made to the TV Ministry of First Baptist Church of Amarillo.
