Olin was born on April 4, 1932, to Coral and Beulah Garner in Bomarton, TX. He served as a Machinist in the U.S. Navy on the U.S.S. Lexington for six years from 1951-1957. After the Navy, he went to barber school and relocated to Amarillo, which he called home for the remainder of his life. He served as a supervisor at the Amarillo Oil Company Fain Plant for 20+ years and, after his tenure there, owned his own barber shop in Pleasant Valley, which was what he enjoyed most. He served as a Master Mason for over sixty years. While serving in this capacity, he volunteered as a clown named "Jelly" for the Khiva Shrine, where he made kids smile by making balloon animals and just overall "clowning around." He married Peggy Wallin Garner on June 24, 1981, who was the love of his life. She preceded him in death in 2006. Olin will be remembered for his humor and love of collecting things. He enjoyed showing off all of his collectibles, talking about his days in the military, and helping grandkids appreciate what we have when he told stories of hard times growing up. He will be missed greatly.Olin is survived by his Sons; Doyle Alan and Kelly Garner, Daughters; Trena Keith and Debbie Rizk, 11 Grandchildren, 12 Great Grandchildren, and 3 Great-Great- Grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his Wife; Peggy Garner passing in 2006, Daughter; Danna Fields passing in 1983, Parents Coral and Beulah Garner.
