Melvin Glen Radney, known as “Tweety”, of Amarillo, Texas, passed away on December 3, 2024, at the age of 83. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 13, 2024 from 5-7 pm at Memorial Park Funeral Home. His funeral service will be Saturday, December 14, 2024 at 10 am at the Memorial Park Chapel of Memories, followed by entombment.
Melvin Glen was born April 19, 1941 to Melvin Chester and Dorothy Eris Radney. He graduated from Tascosa High School in Amarillo. He then attended Manhattan Bible College where he earned his Masters Degree. He ministered at the Christian Church in Council Grove, KS. Outside of his ministry he was involved with the cowboy lifestyle, from working with ranches and sale barns to hauling cattle.
He raised two children while working at Safeway for 25+ years. He was a trucking instructor at Amarillo College and retired from Kimrad Trucking.
He was preceded in death by his father Chester and Stepfather Charles E. Douglass and his 1st wife Margaret Ann Marcom, several aunts, uncles and cousins.
He is survived by his mother Dorothy Eris Douglass, his son Russel G. Radney, his daughter Sherry Lynn Bargeron and her husband Joseph Allen Bargeron. His grandchildren Rana Forehand, Justin Cross, Shane, Amanda, Andrew and Kali Bargeron. Along with 15 great grandchildren, and many extended family members.
