Melba J. Higgins 90, of Amarillo passed away on June 19, 2023.

Ms. Higgins was born on February 1, 1933 to Tim and Helen Cockrell in Durham, Oklahoma. She was also raised in Durham and graduated from Durham High School. She married Hershel Higgins in 1951. Ms. Higgins worked for Western Uniform & Towel Service for many years. Melba enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by a daughter; Peggy Higgins, Grandson; Casey Ford, four brothers and one sister She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Melba is survived by one son; Rick Higgins and wife Kim, two daughters; Sandra McConnell and husband Bill, Judy Ford and husband Ronny all of Amarillo. Grandchildren; Jewelie Smith, Kim Lawrence, Neil Ford, Crissy Springs, Jenny Daniel and Jordi Velasquez. Thirteen great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
