Lily Mae Dove

The family will receive guests on Wednesday, December 4, 2019 from 3pm to 8pm in the Griggs Schooler Gordon Funeral Director’s Pioneer Chapel, 5400 Bell Ave in Amarillo. A graveside services will be held on Thursday, December 5, 2019 at 11am in the Afton Cemetery in Afton, TX with Leif Dove presiding.

Lily was born on November 18, 1951 in Durant, Oklahoma to J.H. “Buck” and Velma White. She loved to cook, but especially enjoyed cooking for her beloved family. She picked up cross stitching as a pass time. Lily was very involved with her church and loved the Lord with a passion. She enjoyed karaoke and singing in general. She especially loved singing anything by the king, Elvis Presley.

Lily was preceded in death by her husband William “Bill” Dove, her parents, and siblings Harvey, Gail, and Henry.

Those left to cherish her memory are her son Michael Dove and wife Wendy of New Mexico, daughter Mary Ann Carson and husband Terry of Amarillo; seven grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. She also leaves behind brothers Delbert, Carl, and James White, and sister Joyce Strickland; as well as many other loving family and dear friends.
