Helen was born on February 22, 1934 in Amarillo, Texas; she graduated from Amarillo High School. She worked at Maxus Energy (formerly known as Diamond Shamrock) before retiring. She loved to sew quilts and do needlework, and also enjoyed doing yard work and spending time with her family. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is preceded in death by her husband Jim Blake; Parents, Claude and Bertie Mae Whitaker; Grandson, Shane Blake, and Sister Virginia Henderson.
She is survived by her sons, Rick and wife Cindy Blake, and Garry Blake; Daughter, Tammy Blake; Brother, Claude Whitaker Jr; Sisters, Bonnie Newman and Linda Gray; Grandchildren, Jamie Lynn and husband Brandon Shaw, Tyler and wife Jamie Leigh Blake, and Great grandchildren Taylor McCaslin, and Ryleigh, Bentley, and Aria Blake.
