Don E. Fuller

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Don Edwin Fuller, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, who left us peacefully on December 10, 2024, at the age of 89, in Amarillo, Texas.

Don was born on December 19, 1934, in Cone, Texas, and spent the majority of his life enriching the community and touching the lives of those around him.Don graduated from Amarillo High School before pursuing higher education at West Texas State University. His passion for education led him to a fulfilling career as a school teacher and administrator at Horace Mann Jr High School, where he dedicated 29 years to shaping young minds and inspiring future generations. Following his teaching career, Don demonstrated his entrepreneurial spirit by founding Fuller Excavation and working as an oil field operator. He was also known as a "Handy Man Extraordinaire," with a talent for tackling any project that came his way. A true adventurer at heart, Don drove to every county in Texas, documenting his experiences with photographs taken at county courthouses. His love for travel was evident as he ventured to all 50 states and made the remarkable journey from Amarillo to Alaska over 25 times. Don enjoyed playing games and solving puzzles, often gathering with family and friends to share laughter and create cherished memories. He was particularly proud of watching his grandsons, Clint and Cade, participate in their various sports activities, cheering them on with unwavering enthusiasm. Don was married to his loving wife, Marjorie Ann Patton, on July 15, 1954, and their 66 years of marriage were filled with love, support, and adventure. Marjorie preceded him in death in 2021. Together, they raised two wonderful children: Terry Fuller, who along with his wife Linda resides in Frisco, Texas, and Carrie Fuller, who lives in Kenai, Alaska. Don's family brought him immense joy, and he was a proud grandfather to two grandsons, Clint (wife Casey) of Fairview, Texas, and Cade (wife Jade) of Kenai, Alaska, as well as four great-granddaughters: Cambrey and Cathryn Fuller, and Adalade and Winslade Dickey. He was one of five children born to Marvin Wilburn and Hazel Vivian Fuller.

Don is survived by his brother Kenneth Wayne Fuller (wife Kathy) and sister Barbara Frisbie (husband Roy), along with multiple nieces and nephews, and an abundance of friends whose lives he touched deeply, including special recognition to Mike Bougher of Amarillo, who provided many Saturday adventures throughout the Panhandle.

Don was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife Marjorie, and two of his brothers, Marvin Ray and Cary Dan Fuller.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a charity of choice that reflects the values Don cherished so deeply.

Don Edwin Fuller will be remembered for his generosity, adventurous spirit, and the immeasurable love he shared with his family and friends.

He will be greatly missed but always remembered in our hearts.
