Mr. Wallace was born Aug. 15, 1938, in Cushing to B.B. and Earline Wallace. He was raised in Cushing and Amarillo. He graduated from Amarillo High School in 1957. He married Glenda Main on June 6, 1959.
Mr. Wallace retired as a conductor from Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway after 39 years of service. He was a member of United Transportation Union Local 1313 and National Association of Retired and Veteran Railroad Employees.
Mr. Wallace enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing, rafting and, most of all, spending time with his grandchildren. He also enjoyed Thursday morning coffee with his retired railroad buddies.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Robert Boyd; and a son-in-law, Larry Lermon.
Survivors include his wife, Glenda; a son, Brian Wallace and wife Desiree of Amarillo; two daughters, Karen Lermon and Karla Rich and husband Alan of Amarillo; a brother, Carroll Wallace of Sacramento, Calif.; a sister-in-law, Noni Boyd of Lufkin; his grandchildren, Tiffany and Brandon Cotton, Andene Lermon, Aaron Wallace, Lindsey and Adrian King, Keeley and Chris Schultz, Allison Rich and Joshua Rich; and eight great-grandchildren.
