Born on April 17, 1936, in Canyon, Texas, to James Victor Steen and Lela Odell Steen, Bobbie was a kind-hearted woman who dedicated her life to her family. She was a loving and devoted wife to her soulmate, Raymond “Dink” Larce McGee, whom she married on March 8, 1953. Together, they raised three children and created a home full of love and memories. Bobbie was known for her hardworking nature and her willingness to help anyone in need, making a lasting impact on everyone she met.
Bobbie’s life was a testament to love, faith, and family. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and two sisters, Billie Clary and Peggy Woods.
Her memory will be cherished by her children: Candy Shipman and husband Lynndon, Curtis McGee and wife Jovita, and Cristal Walser and husband Mikel. She is also survived by her sister Vickie Newman and husband Ronnie. Bobbie leaves behind a legacy of love in her nine grandchildren, twenty-three great-grandchildren, seventeen great-great-grandchildren, and one great-great-great-grandchild, along with numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins who will forever hold her in their hearts.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 14, 2024, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel of Memories. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM.
Bobbie Jo McGee’s kind spirit and selfless love will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed, but her memory will continue to inspire and comfort those she leaves behind.
