Patricia Marie Williamson

Patricia Marie Dempsey Williamson passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 26, 2024. She had recently celebrated her 89th birthday. Pat was born March 7th in Toledo, Ohio to Bart and Ann Dempsey in 1935 and follows her brother Thomas Dempsey in death. She graduated in 1953 from DeVilbiss High School in Toledo and attended University of Colorado for one year. Pat was a life-long swimmer, swimming competitively and coaching swimming and diving for many years.

Pat and John Woll Williamson married in 1955. They had three sons: John, Steve, and Michael. The family moved to Florida in 1971 settling in the Maitland area which became her adopted hometown. She worked for many years at the Maitland Rexall Drug Store always willing to lend a helping hand. She became property manager of Lake Faith Condominiums where she resided. Her down-to-business attitude and willingness to help alongside were instrumental in her success in this role. Pat loved working with tools even venturing into home renovation work for a while.

When Pat’s grandchildren were born—Joshua, Matthew, Alexis, and Marissa, they became the center of her universe. Her grandchildren were everything to her. You didn’t have to know Pat long before she would tell you about her grandchildren. She was so very proud of them. She never missed a moment to spend time with them, either at school events, family get-togethers, or just having them over for special sleepovers with Nana.

While her grandchildren kept her busy, Pat remained very active with the City of Maitland volunteering countless hours with the Chamber of Commerce, assisting with the Art Festival, and supporting both the Maitland Police and Fire Departments. She was a strong advocate for keeping the hometown feel of Maitland and was awarded Ambassador of the City of Maitland. Not only was Pat an outstanding example of civic duty, she also was a patriot through and through. She loved anything U.S.A. and enjoyed showing her American spirit.

Pat was the epitome of mother, grandmother, and citizen. She was a role model for others to follow with her work ethic and willingness to help others. She was extremely generous; Christmas was her favorite time of year—her email was nanasanta! She was legendary in her gift-giving. Patricia Williamson was a remarkable woman, well-loved and respected. She will be deeply missed.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at the Venue on Lake Lily (otherwise known as the Greater Maitland Civic Center) at 641 South Maitland Avenue, Maitland, Florida on Sunday, May 5th at 4:00 pm. Please join the family in honoring this very special woman.
