Ervin Arthur Patrick

Ervin Arthur (Pat) Patrick of Longwood, Florida passed away on July 24, 2020. He is survived by his wife Mary Ann (Richter) Patrick. Born in Parker City, Indiana, he graduated from Purdue University and retired from a 35-year career with the telephone company. Married for 64 years, Dad loved his wife completely. She was his best friend-the love of his life. Mom and Dad presented the example of how to treat each other and how to love each other. Their love flowed to their children, mom and dad’s brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews, friends and acquaintances. Their love was on display, unashamed, joyful, and without apology.

He is preceded in death by his parents Delma and Hilda (McCain) Patrick, brother and sisters, Patricia Oberlin, Earl Patrick, Linda McCreary, and daughter-in-law Christine (Zevola). He is survived by sister Joann (Gene) Simonton, Keith (Linda) Sexton-Patrick, and Nancy (Ted) Jacobs. He is loved by his eight children, Cynthia (Steven) Lind, Daniel (Katrina), Kathleen (Sheridan) Becht, Lori, Mary Lynn (Douglas) Zook, Caroline (Richard) Barrett, Rita (Anthony) Lewitt, and Michael, 24 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. Dad is fondly remembered for his humor, gentle voice, love of showtune musicals, and a book in his back pocket. To the delight of his grandchildren, a visit to Nana and Papa’s often included punishment (ice cream), dished out with peanuts and chocolate syrup atop. Dad often shared with us how God blessed him and our family. By his example, we learned not to keep those blessings to ourselves but to share them. A life well-lived, Papa will be missed.

Viewing will be held on Monday, July 27 from 5-7 pm, at Baldwin Fairchild East Altamonte Funeral Home. The funeral mass will be celebrated Thursday, July 30, at Annunciation Catholic Church, 1020 Montgomery Rd., Altamonte Springs, Florida 32714. Out of respect for public and private safety, physical distancing requirements will be observed, and appropriate face coverings are required. Capacity is limited.
