Darlene “Umie” Zurney, 83, passed away peacefully on August 23, 2020. She was born on April 21, 1937 in Cleveland, Ohio to Theodore and Beatrice Zamrazil.
Umie was a loving, giving and compassionate person. She was a woman of great faith and attended Journey Christian Church. Her family was her greatest treasure and many of them were fortunate to receive crocheted Afghans and baby blankets courtesy of Umie, all they had to do was pick their yarn. She spent over 25 years working as a crossing guard, something that she loved, always taking time to talk to the children and would even bake for them.
Meeting her at the gates in Heaven are her parents, husband of 42 years, Fred and brother, David.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Lynne (Larry), Lorri (Jon) and Gayle; beloved grandchildren, Brian, Danny and Kristin “Niki”; 5 great grandchildren, as well as Amanda, Barrett, Lauren and Josh, her special extended grandchildren.
