Ronald C. Williams, 82, of St. Petersburg, Fla., passed peacefully on August 22, 2021. A New York City native and Fordham University graduate, he met his future wife, Gwendolyn Kolesha, while serving together in the Air National Guard. They were married in May 1968 and moved to Virginia, where they raised three children, first in Richmond and later in Alexandria. Ron spent 35 years working in corporate finance for such Virginia-based companies as Circuit City, Drug Fair, Time-Out Family Amusements, and Erol’s Video. An avid sports fan, he moved to St. Petersburg in 2003 and became a regular at Tropicana Field watching the Tampa Bay Rays. Ron enjoyed weekly mass, fine food, waterfront views, and visiting Maine and Sandbridge Beach, Virginia. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He also loved dogs and had two toy poodles -- Mr. Brown, and his successor, Mr. Gray. Ron was preceded in death by his wife Wendy, sister Patricia, and brother Bill. He is survived by his children: son Peter Williams (Suzanne), and daughters Teresa Pope (Curtis) and Katherine Leventhal (Steve); grandsons Luke Williams, Lance Williams, and Charlie Pope; granddaughters Wendy Pope and Layla Leventhal; numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews Funeral mass and burial will be in Northern Virginia. A visitation for Ronald will be held Thursday, August 26, 2021 from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM at Demaine Funeral Home, 520 S. Washington St., Alexandria, VA 22314. A funeral mass will occur Friday, August 27, 2021 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Good Shephard Catholic Church, 8710 Mount Vernon Hwy,, Alexandria, VA 22309. Interment will proceed after service at Columbia Gardens Cemetery, 3411 Arlington Blvd, Arlington, VA 22201 Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.DemaineFuneralHomes.com for the WILLIAMS family.
