Mary Sutton, 83, on Sunday, April 29, 2012 died at home in Alexandria, VA surrounded by her family. Mary was a native Alexandrian, a 1945 graduate of St. Mary's Academy and attended Dunbarton Catholic College in Washington, DC. Mary was a local proprietor of Scotty's Fire Extinguisher Service until she retired in June, 1990 to Kilmarnock, VA.
Beloved wife of the late William H. Sutton predeceased by sons Michael and Billy Sutton, brother Bernard L. Sweeney, survived by four daughters, Linda (Larry) Sites, Cindy (Greg) Omundson, Kathy (Danny) Roberts and Mary Beth (Eric) Treadway, four sons Chris Sutton, John (Kathy) Sutton, Paul Sutton and Bobby (Sandy) Sutton, twenty seven grandchildren, twenty eight great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren and two nephews, Brett and Blake Sweeney. Friends may call at Demaine's Funeral Home, 520 S. Washington St. Alexandria, VA, on Wednesday 12 to 2 and 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral of a Catholic mass will be held on Thursday, May 3 at St. Mary's Church, 310 S. Royal St., Alexandria, VA at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society or American Lung Society.
