Lionel Wallace Roberts

On February 28, 2015, he died of cancer. He was the devoted husband of the late Elizabeth Roberts, and beloved father of Pamela Grant (James). He was the loving son of the late Lionel and Pearl Roberts, and brother of the late Ralph Roberts. A native of Dallas, TX, Col. Roberts was a 49-year resident of Alexandria, VA. An electrical engineering graduate of Oklahoma State University, he also received his MBA from Florida State University. A pilot during World War II and the Korean War, Col. Roberts career continued in research and development. Among his decorations were the Distinguished Medal of Service and Legion of Merit. He retired from the USAF in 1972 with 30 years of service. Upon his retirement, he embarked upon a successful second career in real estate and managed the Long and Foster Alexandria, VA office. In addition to his daughter, Col. Roberts is survived by granddaughter, Jennifer Wolfe (Daniel) and his adored great-granddaughter, Victoria (his Little Dumplin'), and his grandson Collin Grant (Alexandra). On May 27, the funeral will be held at Arlington National Cemetery with Full Military Honors.
