Lynda Gail (Hall) Funderburk, a beloved mother, grandmother, and cherished member of the community, passed away at her home on November 9, 2023, after a brief but valiant battle with lung cancer. She was born on October 27, 1947, in Little Rock, Arkansas, to James Hartman Hall, Sr. and Dorothy Marceline (Liggett) Hall.
Lynda's journey through life was marked by warmth, laughter, and an unwavering love for her family. She graduated from Central High School’s class of 1966 then embarked on a fulfilling career as an Administrative Assistant, DME Representative, and Daycare Teacher. Lynda's professional journey led her through positions at the AMF Bicycle Co., American Cancer Society, UAMS, various DME companies, and most recently Darnell Daycare.
Lynda's bubbly personality, infectious laughter, and love for life were well known. She had an appetite for travel, enjoyed movies, and delighted in doting on her grandchildren. Throughout her life, Lynda was known for her thoughtfulness and never missed an opportunity to celebrate others with a heartfelt card.
Lynda was a faithful Christian and a member of Geyer Springs First Baptist Church. Her commitment to her faith was evident in both her words and actions. She leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and a vibrant spirit that touched the lives of all who knew her.
Lynda is survived by her loving sons, Charles (Holly) Funderburk II, and John “Scott” (Megan) Funderburk of Little Rock, Arkansas. She was a proud grandmother to Heidi, Brody, and Morgan Funderburk. Lynda is also survived by her brothers James Hall Jr. of Mesquite, TX, Wayne (Pat) Hall of Maumelle, AR, and Eugene (Rita) Hall of Scott, AR.
She was preceded in death by her father, James Hartman Hall Sr., and mother, Dorothy Marceline (Liggett) Hall.
Visitation will be held at Pinecrest Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 7401 AR-5, Alexander, AR 72002 on Wednesday, November 15th from 5-7 PM. A celebration of Lynda's life will also be held at Pinecrest on Thursday, November 16th, at 9 AM. The minister for the service is Dr. Tim Deahl of Geyer Springs First Baptist Church.
The pallbearers for the service will be James Hall, Wayne Hall, Gene Hall, Charles Funderburk II, Scott Funderburk, Jeff Hall and Brody Funderburk.
