He is preceded in death by his wife Bonnie Newstrom, his parents and Sister Jayne Guthunz.
He is survived by his daughters, Lori Maack and Michelle Newstrom both of Bryant; Grandson, Jonathan Benton (Tiffany) of Ward; Two great-grandsons Blayne and Brayden Benton. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
John served in the Army and was a Korean War Veteran. He was a Free Mason member of Pulaski Heights Lodge #673. John was a long-time member of First United Methodist Church in Bryant, where he enjoyed greeting people as an usher. He treasured the many friends he made there.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Amberwood Health and Rehabilitation Center for taking such good care of him in the final months of his life.
Services will be held Tuesday, November 9, 2021 with visitation starting at 10AM and service at 11AM at First United Methodist Church in Bryant with burial to follow at Roselawn Cemetery, Little Rock, AR.
