A lifelong resident of Little Rock, Jana was an alumna of Little Rock Central High School, where she was an active member of the LRCH Tiger High Stepper team. She spent her entire career at MFA and Shelter Insurance Companies, working alongside her husband, Steve Ferguson, at their Shelter Insurance agency for 38 years. The couple was known in their community as the dream team, both professionally and personally.
Jana was a devoted member of East Union Missionary Baptist Church, where she was deeply involved in various activities, especially those centered around family and community. Her faith played a significant role in her life and was a source of strength and inspiration.
Known for her love of the Arkansas Razorbacks, Jana enjoyed spending her weekends at the RoadHog RV Park, attending games and cheering for her team. She cherished time spent with her grandchildren and took great joy in hosting family and friends by her pool during the summer months. Traveling and experiencing new places with her husband was another passion they shared.
Jana is survived by her husband, Steve Ferguson; daughters Paula Pala and Gannon Ferguson Belcher; grandchildren Hunter Pala and Penny Pala; siblings Paul Burris (Glenda) and Rick Burris (Kathie); sister-in-law and best friend Susan Ferguson; brother-in-law Don Ferguson (Sue) and several nieces and nephews including Dave and Kate Burris, Jessica Boyd, Tamie Cochran, and Janet Ferguson. She was preceded in death by her parents, William R and Retha Burris, and her son-in-law, Peter Pala.
A funeral service will be held at 9:30 AM, Monday November 18th at East Union Missionary Baptist Church, followed by a graveside service at Pinecrest Cemetery at 11:00 AM. Family visitation is scheduled from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM on Sunday, 11/17, at Pinecrest Funeral Home, 7401 AR-5, Alexander, AR 72002.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the East Union Church Youth Programs, an initiative close to Jana's heart. Jana's legacy of love, dedication, and service will be remembered by all who knew her.
