Patton, Robert William-age 93 of Rockford, went to be with his Lord, Sunday, September 26, 2010 at his home.Robert was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII and retired from the State of Tennessee. He was a graduate of Middle Tennessee State University. Robert was preceded in death by parents and brothers. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Virginia. Daughter and son-in-law; Kathy and Charlie Smart. son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Mary Ann Patton. Also survived by grandson, Scott Hanley. step-daughter, Tracy Smart and two sisters. The family will receive friends Wednesday, September 29, 2010 from 3-4:00 p.m. with service to follow at at 4 o'clock in Sherwood Chapel. Rev. Keith Havercamp officiation. Entombment will follow service. In lieu of flowers, donations in Robert's name can be made to the American Heart association or the American Cancer Society. Sherwood Chapel and Memorial gardens is honored to help the Patton family.
